Photography: 365 Project: Week Twenty Two

Challenge: Take a picture once a day, every day, for 365 days. I will be doing this through Instagram and my iPhone4. I’m hoping to publish this into a photo book in a year’s time, which will include haikus that will act as the photo’s commentary. Wanna do it too? Photojojo has some groovy guidelines you might find inspiring.

No, i haven’t forgotten about this. In fact, if you follow me on Flickr, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, you’ll see i’ve been keeping up quite well. Now, my Weekly WordPress posts, and my keeping up with the print version, that’s a whole different ballgame…

Really, it’s the little journal posts that keep me from staying totally on top of this little project. Therefore, i’m going to do my damnedest to finish out these drafts and actually post them. Hopefully, i will inspire some other people to document their lives in a similar fashion, and to grow as photographers and as people while doing so.

There are pros and cons during a project like this when you are working in a bustling city like Washington, D.C.. The big pro is that you always see interesting imagery: you just show up and hit a button, and odds are good you’ll have a decent picture to show off. The big con is that there may not be a particularly interesting story to it.

Yeah, this was one of those. I was quiet, he was quiet, and we both commuted silent through Virginia to DC.

My poor iphone usb. Think it’s time to retire it? Lighting under my desk was surprisingly good.

So the company i’m currently doing stuff for does a lot of web stuff with a company called the Lukens Company. They were super nice and sent some delicious holiday Georgetown cupcakes with their logos on them. Silly me should have been using a macro lens. Maybe i should get that Photojojo macro IPhone lens case thinger.

Yesterday, we had a holiday party thingy at the Melting Pot on 19th. Lunch was delicious (but not as delicious as i was hoping, but it was free, sooooo…). It was a little surreal, as the manager happened to be a kid i went to school with. I should have got his number or something, frankly.

There’s a korean spot in woodbridge (named rather generically… “korean bbq” or something to that effect) that totally didn’t suck. One of my favorite parts about eating korean is the banh chan in the beginning.

My dear friends threw a nice holiday party thing that required a) fancy attire or b) ugly xmas sweaters. Here, Will Austin reads his favorite childhood book: Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins. When i figure out how to upload video from my phone, i will totally put it on youtube and link it here.

I swear i’m the only person in the entire DC area that isn’t on the pre-play for the new Star Wars MMO. It’s like… KOTOR with OTHER PEOPLE. RAR. Stupid pay to play games… The only reason i stopped playing WoW was because i couldn’t afford it.
